New Illustrations

These illustrations are just some things that I have come up with recently. I have really become interested in drawing again, though I still enjoy sculpture drawing has been a great outlet especially for the amount of time that I have had recently. Enjoy, more to come soon.

Bullet Shell Update and New 2012 Collection

As promised here is a pair of earrings I made using some of the bullet shell casings we found in December.  The "stone-like" spikes that dangle from the copper bullet shells were made with gray speckled polymer clay. They are part of the New LDk2 "Polymer Fusion" collection. What I love about these is that they are bold yet not over the top; a great choice for the those that have a unique sense of style! Bullet Shell Exploration

I've been dying to make some jewelry pieces with found objects, more specifically bullet shell casings. I've seen it done before and the end result is "sweet". This past weekend we went to Cambridge, Idaho to visit  Levi's parents and I decided we should check out a few of Levi's old shooting sites. At first I was a bit disappointed because it seemed as though we weren't going to find anything but then with my dear husbands trained eye they began to surface and we soon had a nice little collection. Then later he decided to go shooting with his brother and now we have a nice huge collection. But it was still fun to explore, especially since we had no idea what size or colors we'd find. Here are some pictures from our exploration :)

New Items - Little Problems

I was so so so excited about my new patina-ted metal earrings....

and then I awoke one morning a few days after all my hard work to find that my sweet little son had dumped out all of my patina dyes! Ugh DANG...and I can't even be mad at him. Guess I'll have to be mad at myself for sleeping in and leaving our work room door open. But on the upside a wonderful customer purchased the second pair only a few days after we listed them!!! That was a fantastic feeling...I just wish I could make more. I'll eventually replace my dyes but in the meantime I want to try out polymer clay and see if I can come up with something neat.

LDk2 Rings - by Levi

Levi designed these fantastic innovative  rings  that we have listed for sell at our new Etsy shop  LDk2  and I am ecstatic about them because he has so much creativity to offer. There will be more to see in the future he's already talking about his inspiration for the next few.

The wood rings are made from red drift wood (Redwood Forest in Cali) and white urethane plastic. I was skeptical at first (mostly because it wasn't my idea) about the combination of the materials but I think they turned out great. The metal ring is made from brass and has an awesome "distressed" design that I absolutely fall in love with every time I see it.
